I have tried to use bold brush marks with lots of vivid colour to enhance the sense of place. Based on sketches made whilst walking across Bodmin Moor.

I enjoy painting the subtle colour changes you find in a moorland landscape such as this one in Bodmin Moor. Behind Tregarrick Tor is Sibblyback Lake but you cannot see the reservoir from this viewpoint. 

Last Light

I had a painting which was started a few years ago but never quite got the sparkle and clarity I was after. I am glad I kept the colouring quite bold.

Coastline near Downderry in Cornwall

Really enjoyed working with prussian blue oil colour today to offer those deep brooding clouds that bit more drama to the cornish coastline near Downderry.

Lingering Mist on Caradon Hill

I really wanted to concentrate on the wonderful blue mist that was lingering for what seemed at least two hours. Its the field just beyond Crows Nest and the view toward Upton Cross.
